Mini shrimp tank

I know some of you out there is going to think that this is cruel...

But then again, I really wish Dear could enjoy the fun by putting this in the office...

>_<;;

Still, it was fun to setup and now waiting to see how the shrimp react with the oxygen level.
If it doesn't work out, perhaps will add an airstone to the setup.

Pardon the messy background.. >_<;;

Snow white Shrimps

Again, it's Dear's favourite thing to go into my tank.. they are pretty too! Not very white though.. seems a little golden..? Not sure about CRS stuffs.. >_<;;

New setup of shrimp tank

Here's the revamped look of the tank.

Not as cool as the previous setup as I decided to keep it simple and clean to
1. counter outbreaks of whatever
2. become a simple breeder tank

Still, I love this simple look of the new setup! :D

Mini Pelia on wood in the middle, hair grass at the back, unknown plant on wood from Seaview, HC in the pod up there, 2 frog's bits floating.

Purposely keep the soil thin this time since I am not planting so heavily like previously, and easy to vacumm if needed.
Currently holding some snow white and cherries in there!

Can't wait to fill this with shrimps from Japan!
Oh ya, might seperate this tank into 2 if I am getting shrimps that will crossbreed... >_<;;

Trip to Seaview

Been crazy over moss recently especially Mini Pelia! Also, seaching high and low for Java moss but surprisingly, a lot places don't have! Silly Dear and me happily went to C328 (From Punggol to Clementi) and shocked to recall that they aren't open on Sundays! *Bangs wall*

Couldn't get all the moss I want to setup my shrimp tank after I tear it down as I wasn't able to cure the planaria problem.

Google hard on Monday and found Seaview to be a great place and near my place that is big and sells a lot stuffs! Including a good range of plants! Yeah!

Grab Dear to deliver me down there and had a short and great time there.. (they closes at 7pm, I reached around 6pm+)

Stuffs I got there:

- Double swordtail fish Male! (Dear's dream fish for it's beautiful fins)
- Mini Pelia! :D
- Java Moss
- erm, a plant on a wood. lol, don't know it's name
- a small piece of wood

Here's my pretty boy!
He's a super shy boy! Scare the shit outta us when he started sinking to the bottom of the quarantine tank. Luckily as what we found on the web, it's due to stress and shock that made him stay close to the ground.
Before I went to bed, he was already swimming around!

DIY Java moss "holder"

Due to lack of ground space, and also not wanting to cover any rocks or wood with java moss like what usual scapist do, I came up with this thing!

Here's how I did this:

1. Support clip for holding the glass used to cover the tank
2. Acrylic cut to the length you wish you moss to stay away from the glass (from artfriend)
3. Acrylic rod (from artfriend)
4. Acrylic solvent (from artfriend)
5. Cutter for acrylic
6. Saw
7. Sand paper (super rough)

First, saw the piece of acrylic rod to the length you need and cut the acrylic sheet to the length you wish the rod to be placed.

Glue the acrylic sheet to the support clip and the rod  to the acrylic piece. Wait for it to dry.

Tie your favourite moss and you are done!
